Resumen: En este nuevo trabajo sobre la fauna de macroheteróceros (Insecta: Lepidoptera) de la provincia de León (NO España) se presentan un total de 17 especies nuevas para la provincia, de las que cinco son nuevas para la comunidad autónoma de Castilla y León. También se aportan una lista patrón de todos los macroheteróceros de la provincia de León conocidos hasta la fecha y una corrigenda de anteriores artículos publicados.

Abstract: In this new paper on the Macroheteroceran fauna (Insecta: Lepidoptera) of the province of León (NW Spain) a total of 17 species new for the province are presented, resulting five of them new for the autonomous community of Castilla y León. An updated list of all Macroheterocera of the province of León known to date and corrections to previous papers are also provided.

Resumen: Se cita Chrysobothris dorsata (Fabricius, 1787) (Coleoptera: Buprestidae) por primera vez para Cataluña, de la provincia de Barcelona. Se aportan comentarios sobre su biología, un mapa actualizado de su presencia en la península ibérica y fotos del adulto, genitalia y orificios de emergencia en una de sus plantas nutricias.

Abstract: Chrysobothris dorsata (Fabricius, 1787) (Coleoptera: Buprestidae) is recorded for the first time for Catalonia, from the province of Barcelona. Comments on its biology, an updated map of its presence in the Iberian Peninsula and pictures of the adult, genitalia and emergence holes in one of its hostplant are provided.

Resumen: Continuando con el estudio de los escolitinos (Coleoptera, Curculionidae: Scolytinae) del Parque Natural de Sant Llorenç del Munt i l'Obac, en esta ocasión se aporta información de especies no citadas hasta el momento, ampliando el rango de hábitats en los que se han realizado muestreos entre los años 2020 a 2022 y, por tanto, sin ceñirse exclusivamente a las especies propias de coníferas. Se han identificado 16 especies no citadas con anterioridad, una de ellos nueva y cinco segundas citas para la provincia de Barcelona, destacando especialmente el primer registro de Kissophagus novaki Reitter, 1894 y la confirmación de la presencia de Xylocleptes biuncus Reitter, 1894 en la Península Ibérica. Se corrigen errores publicados en un trabajo previo, quedando el catálogo de la subfamilia Scolytinae de este espacio natural protegido formado por 35 especies.

Abstract: Continuing with the study of the scolitines (Coleoptera, Curculionidae: Scolytinae) of the Sant Llorenç del Munt i l'Obac Natural Park, on this occasion information is provided on species not mentioned so far, expanding the range of habitats in which sampling has been carried out between the years 2020 to 2022 and, therefore, not limited exclusively to conifer species. Sixteen taxa not previously reported have been identified, one of them new and five second records for the province of Barcelona, being especially noteworthy the first record of Kissophagus novaki Reitter, 1894 and the confirmation of the presence of Xylocleptes biuncus Reitter, 1894 in the Iberian Peninsula. Errors published in a previous paper are corrected, being the catalog of the subfamily Scolytinae of this protected natural area made up of 35 species.

Resumen: Se documenta por primera vez la presencia y colonización de la mariposa Vanessa virginiensis (Drury, 1773) (Lepidoptera, Nymphalidae) en la comunidad autónoma del País Vasco. A lo largo de 2023 se estudió la especie en embalses situados en las provincias de Araba/Álava, Bizkaia y Gipuzkoa. Se observó el uso de Pseudognaphalium luteoalbum (L.) Hilliard & B.L. Burtt, pero también de Gnaphalium uliginosum L., como plantas nutricias de las larvas, constituyendo esto último una observación novedosa en Europa. Se registraron 212 avistamientos individuales, incluyendo hembras depositando huevos y una alta densidad de larvas en diversos estadios de desarrollo. La existencia de una observación realizada en 2017 y los datos obtenidos a lo largo de 2023 sugieren un patrón de colonización periódica, posiblemente favorecida por el cambio climático y los periodos de intensas sequías que incrementan el estiaje de los embalses. Se sugiere el interés de prestar mayor atención a la búsqueda de poblaciones en embalses y zonas lacustres de toda la península ibérica para lograr una mejor comprensión de sus dinámicas poblacionales en Europa occidental.

Abstract: The presence and colonization of the butterfly Vanessa virginiensis (Drury, 1773) (Lepidoptera, Nymphalidae) (American painted lady) in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country is documented for the first time. Throughout 2023 the species was studied in reservoirs located in the provinces of Araba/Álava, Bizkaia, and Gipuzkoa. The use of Pseudognaphalium luteoalbum (L.) Hilliard & B.L. Burtt, but also of Gnaphalium uliginosum L., as larval host plants was observed, the latter being a novel observation in Europe. A total of 212 individual sightings were recorded, including females laying eggs and a high density of larvae at various stages of development. The existence of an observation made in 2017 and the data obtained throughout 2023 suggest a pattern of periodic colonization, possibly favoured by climate change and periods of intense drought that increase the low water levels of the reservoirs. The interest of paying a greater attention to the search for populations in reservoirs and lacustrine environments throughout the Iberian Peninsula in order to achieve a better understanding of their population dynamics in Western Europe is suggested.

This is the first record of the species in the Canary archipelago. Furthermore, the first records of Fulvius borgesi Chérot, J. Ribes & Gorczyca, 2006 (Heteroptera: Miridae: Cylapinae) on the island of Tenerife and the first record of Plinachtus imitator (Reuter, 1891) (Heteroptera: Coreidae: Coreinae: Gonocerini) on the island of Lanzarote are reported. Additional information on the distribution of the three species is summarised.

Resumen: Se presenta un primer catálogo de los geométridos (Lepidoptera, Geometridae) del monte Perímetro de Buitrago (Buitrago del Lozoya, Comunidad de Madrid), basado en las fotografías tomadas por el autor entre los años 2013 y 2018. Se han registrado hasta ahora 69 especies, incluidas dentro de las subfamilias Ennominae (30), Geometrinae (4), Sterrhinae (19) y Larentiinae (16). En conjunto, se caracterizan por presentar una elevada proporción de especies de influencia mediterránea, con un 53,6%, y una destacada representación de elementos de amplia distribución, que incluye paleárticos (27,5%) y euroasiáticos (13%). Theria primaria (Haworth, 1809) se cita por primera vez para la Comunidad de Madrid y también se proporciona una nueva localidad para la escasa Lycia zonaria (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775).

Abstract: A first catalogue of geometrid moths (Lepidoptera, Geometridae) of Perímetro de Buitrago forest (Buitrago del Lozoya, Community of Madrid) is presented, based upon photographs taken by the author between 2013 and 2018. So far, 69 species were recorded, belonging to the subfamilies Ennominae (30), Geometrinae (4), Sterrhinae (19) and Larentiinae (16). As a whole, they are characterized by presenting a high proportion of species of Mediterranean influence, a 53,6%, and an outstanding representation of widely distributed elements, which includes Palaeartic (27,5%) and Eurasian (13%). Theria primaria (Haworth, 1809) is reported for the first time from the Community of Madrid and a new locality for the scarce Lycia zonaria (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775) is also provided.

Resumen: Se aportan nuevos registros de sésidos (Lepidoptera: Sesiidae) asociados a Quercus spp. en Extremadura (SO España). Se registra por primera vez la presencia de Paranthrene insolita Le Cerf, 1914 y Synanthedon conopiformis (Esper, [1782]) en la provincia de Badajoz y la de Synanthedon codeti (Oberthür, 1881) en la provincia de Cáceres. Todos los especímenes fueron machos capturados durante 2021-2022 mediante trampas delta cebadas con feromonas sexuales sintéticas. Además se registra por primera vez a Pyropteron (Synansphecia) leucomelaena (Zeller, 1847) en la provincia de Badajoz y a Bembecia uroceriformis (Treitschke, 1834) en las provincias de Badajoz y Cáceres, dos especies no objetivo también capturadas en las trampas de feromona.

Abstract: New records of clear-wing moths (Lepidoptera: Sesiidae) associated with Quercus spp. in Extremadura (SW Spain) are provided. The occurrence of Paranthrene insolita Le Cerf, 1914 and Synanthedon conopiformis (Esper, [1782]) in the province of Badajoz and that of Synanthedon codeti (Oberthür, 1881) in the province of Cáceres, is recorded for the first time. All specimens were males captured during 2021-2022 using delta traps baited with synthetic sex pheromones. Moreover, the occurrence of Pyropteron (Synansphecia) leucomelaena (Zeller, 1847) in the province of Badajoz and that of Bembecia uroceriformis (Treitschke, 1834) in the provinces of Badajoz and Cáceres is recorded for the first time, two non-target species also captured in the pheromone traps.

Abstract: The species Cixidia maroccana Anufriev, 1969 is recorded for the first time from Spain and Portugal. Cixidia sikaniae D’Urso & Guglielmino, 1995 is newly recorded from Portugal. A female specimen of Cixidia cf. lapponica (Zetterstedt, 1828) has been collected in Spain, but its identity remains uncertain. The records of C. maroccana are the first ones since its description from Morocco. Based on the new observations, C. maroccana is an univoltine species, only found in spring.

Resumen: La especie Cixidia maroccana Anufriev, 1969 se registra por primera vez en España y Portugal. Cixidia sikaniae D’Urso & Guglielmino, 1995 se cita por primera vez en Portugal. Se ha recolectado en España un ejemplar hembra de Cixidia cf. lapponica (Zetterstedt, 1828), pero su identidad sigue siendo incierta. Los registros de C. maroccana son los primeros desde su descripción de Marruecos. Según las nuevas observaciones, C. maroccana es una especie univoltina que sólo se encuentra en primavera.

Resumen: Se registran en el Parque Natural de les Capçaleres del Ter i del Freser (Girona, Cataluña) doce especies de Coleoptera pertenecientes a las familias Ciidae, Salpingidae, Tetratomidae, Latridiidae y Staphylinidae. Varias de las citas constituyen novedades para la fauna de la provincia o de Cataluña. Se comentan métodos y fechas de captura y su distribución en la Península Ibérica, y se incluyen también habitus de algunas especies.

Resumen: Se han obtenido un total de veintisiete nuevos registros para la provincia de Burgos (norte de España) de Heteropterus morpheus (Pallas, 1771) (Lepidoptera, Hesperiidae), distribuidos en tres cuadrículas UTM 10x10, una de las cuales resulta nueva y extiende su distribución 40 km hacia el sur. Se describe el hábitat de la especie, siempre ligado a suelos higroturbosos. La fenología de vuelo conocida se produce entre la segunda quincena de julio y la primera semana de agosto. Se realizaron seis recorridos con banda, obteniéndose valores promedio de densidad de 23,9 ± 28,1 ind./ha, con un rango de 5,5 a 80 ind./ha. Se analizaron las amenazas a la especie, principalmente debidas a la destrucción directa del hábitat para transformar los humedales que ocupa en pastizales o cultivos agrícolas.

Abstract: A total of twenty-seven new records of Heteropterus morpheus (Pallas, 1771) (Lepidoptera, Hesperiidae) have been obtained for the province of Burgos (North of Spain) distributed in three UTM 10x10 squares, one of these squares is new and extends its distribution area 40 km to the south. The habitat of the species is described, always linked to peaty soil. The known flight phenology is between the second half of July and the first week of August. Six banded surveys were carried out, obtaining average density values of 23.9±28.1 ind./ha, with a range from 5.5 to 80 ind./ha. Threats to the species were analyzed, mainly due to the direct destruction of the habitat to transform the wetlands it occupies into pastures or agricultural crops.

Resumen: Se aporta un nuevo registro de Hololepta (Hololepta) plana (Sulzer, 1776) (Coleoptera: Histeridae) para la península ibérica. Se trata de la primera localización para la Comunidad Valenciana, en un área recreativa junto al río Vinalopó, en la provincia de Alicante. Se aportan algunos datos ibéricos inéditos y una fotografía de la especie, además de dos mapas en los que se actualiza su distribución ibérica  y se localiza la primera cita en la Comunidad Valenciana.

Abstract: A new record of Hololepta (Hololepta) plana (Sulzer, 1776) (Coleoptera: Histeridae) is provided for the Iberian Peninsula. This is the first record for the Valencian Community, in a recreational area next to the Vinalopó River, in the province of Alicante. Some unpublished Iberian records and a photograph of the species are provided, as well as two maps in which its Iberian distribution is updated and the first record in the Valencian Community is located.

Abstract: The first record of Pseudopachybrachius reductus (Walker, 1872) (Heteroptera: Rhyparochromidae: Rhyparochrominae) on the island of Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain) is reported. This is the first record of the species as well as of the genus Pseudopachybrachius Malipatil, 1978 in the Canary archipelago. Furthermore, the first records of Acrosternum heegeri Fieber, 1861 (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae) on the island of Lanzarote (Canary Islands, Spain) are reported. Additional information on the distribution of the two species is summarised.

Resumen: A list of 15 species of Dermestidae (Coleoptera) found on Mallorca (Balearic Islands, Spain) is presented. Images of all 15 species are provided to help workers identify them under field (or laboratory) conditions as an aid to extending the species list. Two species, Anthrenus amandae Holloway, 2019 and Globicornis peckhamae Holloway & Cañada Luna, 2023, are discussed in more depth. Neither has yet been recorded beyond Mallorca, so the possibility that one or both are endemic to the island is considered.

Abstract: The first population in Portugal of the alien lace bug Stephanitis (Stephanitis) lauri Rietschel, 2014 (Hemiptera: Tingidae) has been detected. This is also the first observation on the Atlantic coast, far from its Mediterranean main area of distribution. This gives us the opportunity to present an overview of its known current distribution. The habitus of S. lauri and male paramere are illustrated.

Se trata también de la primera observación en la costa atlántica, lejos de su principal área mediterránea de distribución. Esto nos ofrece la oportunidad de presentar una revisión de su actual distribución conocida. Se ilustran el habitus y el parámero del macho de S. lauri.

Resumen: Se registran las primeras citas de Chroantha ornatula (Herrich-Schäffer, 1842) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) en la comunidad autónoma de Aragón. Dado que su presencia en la provincia de Teruel parece ser masiva desde octubre de 2023 sin que con anterioridad a este hecho se conociera una sola cita aragonesa de esta especie, se incluye un comentario sobre a qué puede deberse este inusual suceso.

Abstract: The Neotropical species Edessa graziae Fernandes & Silva, 2021 (Hemiptera, Pentatomidae) was found for the first time in Spain in 2023 and 2024. This species was able to overwinter on its host-plant Dolichandra unguis-cati (L.) L.G. Lohmann (Bignoniaceae). So far, this is the only species of the subfamily Edessinae found and established in the Old World. Photos of living adult specimens and a nymph are presented for the first time.

Resumen: Se ha detectado la especie neotropical  Edessa graziae Fernandes & Silva, 2021 (Hemiptera, Pentatomidae) por primera vez en España en 2023 y 2024. Esta especie ha podido invernar en su planta huésped Dolichandra unguis-cati (L.) L.G. Lohmann (Bignoniaceae). Hasta ahora es la única especie de la subfamilia Edessinae encontrada y establecida en el Viejo Mundo. Se presentan por primera vez fotos de adultos vivos y de una ninfa.

Abstract: Lestes macrostigma (Eversmann, 1836) is a species of Zygoptera (Odonata: Lestidae) that has a very fragmented distribution in the Iberian Peninsula. A rare colony was discovered in May 2024 in the metropolis of Seville, Southern Spain. Unlike other colonies known so far in the country, the species does not use Bolboschoenus maritimus (L.) to spawn, nor Juncus maritimus Lam. as it does in France. As a novelty, it has been located in a highly anthropized wetland in that metropolitan area, formed exclusively by Thypha latifolia L. as an emerging macrophyte. A photographic record of the species observed at the end of spring is attached.

Resumen: Lestes macrostigma (Eversmann, 1836) es una especie de Zygoptera (Odonata: Lestidae) que tiene una distribución muy fragmentada en la Península Ibérica. Una rara población fue descubierta en mayo de 2024 en la metrópolis de Sevilla, sur de España. A diferencia de otras poblaciones conocidas hasta el momento en el país, la especie no utiliza Bolboschoenus maritimus (L.) para desovar, ni tampoco Juncus maritimus Lam. como hace en Francia. Como novedad, se la ha localizado en un humedal altamente antropizado en dicha área metropolitana, formado exclusivamente por Typha latifolia L. como macrófito emergente. Se acompaña un registro fotográfico de la especie observada al final de primavera.

Abstract: Anthrenus amandae Holloway, 2019, A. angustefasciatus Ganglbauer, 1904, and A. isabellinus Küster, 1848 are Dermestidae (Coleoptera) belonging to the Palaearctic A. pimpinellae (Fabricius, 1775) complex. All three species were collected from Mallorca. The distributions of the three species were habitat specific with A. angustefasciatus only found in acidic environments dominated by conifers. Anthrenus amandae and A. isabellinus were found in agricultural or cultivated environments. All three species were able to breed on bird feathers. The resulting final larval instar cases are described to facilitate species identification in the absence of adults.

Resumen: Anthrenus amandae Holloway, 2019, A. angustefasciatus Ganglbauer, 1904 y A. isabellinus Küster, 1848 son Dermestidae (Coleoptera) pertenecientes al complejo paleártico de A. pimpinellae (Fabricius, 1775). Las tres especies fueron recolectadas en Mallorca. Las distribuciones de las tres especies fueron específicas de hábitat, encontrándose A. angustefasciatus sólo en ambientes ácidos dominados por coníferas. Anthrenus amandae y A. isabellinus se encontraron en ambientes agrícolas o cultivados. Las tres especies fueron capaces de reproducirse en plumas de aves. Se describen las exuvias larvarias de último estadio para facilitar la identificación de las especies en ausencia de adultos.

Abstract: New records of Amphimallon vivesi (Baraud, 1967) (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae) are presented for the Iberian Peninsula, in the three provinces of the Valencian Community (Eastern Spain), both from own data and from photographs published on the website BiodiversidadVirtual.org.
